Trip to MI

We recently got back from an awesome trip to MI. Our yearly fall trip was made extra special as Tim and Lauren were able to join our tailgate. Despite the rainy weather, we had a great time. The kids has a great time playing in the mud, and we were able to go a very exciting game where MSU beat ND in overtime with a fake field goal! GO GREEN! GO WHITE! GO STATE!

We enjoyed seeing Eric's family, especially his Grandma (who is 90!!). The kids got to spend a few extra days in MI as I had to return to GA for work. Sue (my MIL) was able to fly down with the kids and stay for an extra 5 days before flying back to MI.

Grace turns 2

On September 4th, my baby girl turned 2! I am amazed at how much she has grown and changed in the last year! She is talking a lot, "reading" books, and a constant little ball of energy. She and Martin (Mar-Mar as she calls him) are starting to play together. The cleaning supplies she got for her birthday, however, contain a dangerous weapon. The broom is used more for hitting Mar-Mar on the head then sweeping the floor. We'll have to work on that...

Visiting mom and dad

We had a great time on the boat (Martin yells "faster Grandpa!!) and playing on an island beach. Both the kids are getting better at swimming, and it is so much fun the watch them enjoy these visits so much!!

We visited with mom and dad for a weekend at the end of July and had a blast!! the kids, mom, and I all went blueberry picking at Bill and Gloria's house. They live across the street from my parents and have a beautiful yard that reminds me of a botanical garden!

Tigers (I mean Braves) baseball game

We had a blast going to see the Tigers when they were in town playing the Braves. It was a HOT day so the kids didn't last too long in the stands. They did enjoy seeing the bullpen though, and Grace loved to make the "roar" sound when the Tigers were up to bat. We also stopped by the Varsity on the way home so Eric could finally try it. He commented on how greasy everything was!! I have to agree! The kids liked the hats!

In early July we visited the Johnston family for some fun!! We enjoyed a great weekend of playing and swimming. The kids are growing up so fast--it is so nice to see them often.

Panama City Beach

WE had a great time a few weeks ago visiting Panama City Beach with Jon and Sue. I attended a conference in San Destin but still managed to enjoy some wonderful time at the beach (no oil luckily!!) and the pool with my two little beach bums! The kids had a great time as always. Grace played in the sand, ate the sand, and pulled her little body board around everywhere. Martin loved the water although prefers to be carried in (carrying 30+ pounds into the waves with uneven sand is super fun!!) over riding on a raft. We had a blast--THANK YOU Jon and Sue!

Another guest at hotel Reesman

We had the pleasure of my brother Joey living with us for about 1 month. His wife Crystal took a job in LA. Joey was finishing up work here so he stayed with us once Crystal had made the move. We had a great time going to Snellville Days, the strawberry farm, and hanging out. We miss him and Crystal!! That makes Tim, Lauren (Tim's girlfriend), and Joey all house guest. Beth? Chris? Need a place to stay?

Return to the blog...

Not sure where to begin since the last blogging but here we go...

Jon and Sue came in to town for Easter and a visit, which was a blast. The kids loved hunting for eggs in the years, and have really enjoyed eating the candy out of them!!

Eric and I just got back from a cruise to the Caribbean. IT was a blast, but I really missed the kids and were so excited to return! We visited Tulum in Cozumel, Mexico, cave tubing in Belize, Isle Rotan, Honduras with a catamaran/snorkeling adventure, and a fun day of shopping and sight seeing in Grand Cayman. We really enjoyed the quite time we got to spend together. We arrived back home to an exhausted Grandma (THANK YOU mom and dad!!) and Joey, our roommate for a month.

We enjoyed great food every night! Getting to dress up and sit and eat was a huge treat! We also met a wonderful couple, Mike and Joy, who we were able to enjoy talking to over dinner on a nightly basis.
I also had a blast running to the room at night to see what little "guest" the staff had left for us!

I have lots more to come, just need more time! We have an exciting weekend planned with a trip to see mom, the Snellville Days festival with Joey, and hopefully strawberry picking!

Martin turns 3!!

I can't believe my first born is 3! Probably doesn't seem like such a milestone for some but time is just flying by! We had a lovely long weekend with Eric's parents. They arrives Thurs am and had a great time with the kids. Eric's sister joined us from Michigan as well on Saturday, which was a really special treat as we don't see her that often. My parents were able to come by as well on Sunday to enjoy some cake and presents.

I loves seeing him get excited about the presents!! He kept saying OOO and AWW when he would open something. He also knew just what to do for the cake and blew each candle out quickly before asking for a piece.

Wrap up--part 2

We celebrate with Eric's parents and Grandma the week after Christmas, which was a nice way to continue the holiday. The kids got a bike (Martin) and a car (Grace). We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed having Grandma here! She turns 90 in January and was still on the floor playing with the kids!!

Christmas wrap up--part 1

Well Christmas has come and gone. WE were blessed to celebrate with my family and Eric's family. My parents came down to see us for Christmas Eve and day, which enabled us to catch up with my dear friend Julia who was in town over the holidays. WE had a wonderful time watching Martin open his gifts (and get excited about them!!) Grace still loved the boxes more, but enjoyed her new things.
